Karnan starring dhanush has become the last hit for the tamil film industry before the COVID second wave has hit the country. The movie is critically acclaimed along with the commercial success. But the COVID second wave has cut its run. Karnan signed for a 30 day theatrical window with amazon Prime and the premiere date is set for May 9th.

With almost all the films revising their deal with OTT platforms for early release, expect an official announcement soon from amazon Prime. Powerstar pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab was supposed to release fifty days after the theatrical release but is now releasing only 21 days after its release.

In Karnan, dhanush plays a fearless village youth, must fight for the rights of the conservative people of his village, due to the torture given by a police officer. The movie is directed by Mari Selvaraj. dhanush had already announced doing one more film with the director. On the other side, the telugu version of Karnan did not have a theatrical release. The telugu fans are eagerly waiting to see if the telugu version will also be out on amazon Prime Video along with the tamil version.
