Pallavi Dey, a popular bengali television actress, was discovered dead in her Garfa flat on sunday morning. The autopsy was performed, and the reports indicate that the death was caused by suicide. There was no evidence of a suicide at the scene, and there was no external sign of harm on the body. Pallavi Dey was discovered hanged in her rented home in South kolkata on Sunday.

In contrast, after the family made alarming charges against her live-in partner Shagnik Chakraborty, the authorities are looking into the 'abduction to suicide' perspective. Pallavi Dey used to live with Shagnik Chakraborty, and Pallavi now claims that he was married and hid it from her. Pallavi found out about it six months ago, and Shagnik reportedly told Pallavi that he was divorcing his wife.

Pallavi's parents further claim that Shagnik was completely reliant on Pallavi financially, and that the two of them bought a luxury apartment in New Town as well as a vehicle together. The parents claim that their daughter was succeeding on bengali television, earning well and gaining new opportunities, and that she had no cause to commit herself. Pallavi Dey was known for songs like "Ami Sirajer Begum" and "Mon Mane Na," among others.
