Amber Heard, who plays Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom, says she's not sure if she'll be in the final edit. Heard portrays Mera in the Aquaman trilogy, which began with Zack Snyder's Justice League and continued with james Wan's solo film. In the 2018 film Aquaman, she played a significant role as a co-lead alongside Jason Momoa, who plays the eponymous character.

Heard was brought back for the sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and she took to social media to show off her training and traditional red hair for the character. Despite this, she has only appeared in a few promotional videos and pictures for the film. Heard is currently on trial for defamation alongside his ex-husband, johnny Depp, and has been for the past month. Throughout the trial, Heard has spoken about her position in Aquaman 2, revealing further insight on her involvement in the sequel.

Heard said today (via CBS News) that she was initially released from her contract before shooting Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: "They let me out of my contract. And I pushed to stay in it, and they kept me in it; I'm just not sure how much of the final edit I'm in." Later, Heard elaborated on her involvement with the sequel, claiming she's not sure whether she'll even be in it, saying: "I'm not sure if I'll make the final cut or how much I'll be in it. It was tough to stay focused on the film."
