Part of Darlings is about marital abuse and how a wife rebels in the face of overwhelming circumstances. Naturally, there is a lot of domestic violence depicted in the beginning to set the scene. Even if the actors do their roles well, several sequences seem overdone. But Jasmeet's logical narration is what propels the story. The narration's strongest point is how many of the issues a typical indian lady encounters are reflected in her experience.

The fun begins in the second half. The situational humour that is produced makes people laugh a lot. The dynamic duo of alia and Shefali is ideal, and Hamza is taught a valuable lesson in the way they do it. For instance, it's great to watch the mother and daughter talking to each other through the window. Your interest is captured by the way that emotions are expressed in a lighthearted yet compelling way.

However, the movie itself has certain issues. Hamza is abducted, yet he never screams out for assistance. There are plenty such irrational situations. Before she regains control of the story in the closing minutes, filmmaker Jasmeet veers off course numerous times in an effort to add some humour. The stories Jasmeet tells about them are different even though the scenarios are predictable.
