He said, 'I still remember there was a time when kids would not come near me...they were scared of me because of my villain image. Even many women used to say bad things to me. What kind of work are you doing? You look good, what role are you doing... I have heard many such things in the past.

Despite being a stereotype, mukesh rishi has no qualms. He feels that people have become wiser with the changing times and have started understanding his work better. He said, 'The children are no longer afraid of me. It is all because negative characters have evolved in our cinema, the way people see those characters. They found humor in it and made memes out of it. Talking about mukesh Rishi's work front, he has produced a punjabi film named 'Nidar', which is the debut film of his son Raghav Rishi.
