'Zero' is basically a Supernatural sc-fi thriller and it rewrites Adam and Eve script. The story is a mix of reality and dreams and definitely the Shiv Mohaa needs to work a lot on the ground work. He has done it without much fuss. The story is about a newly wed couple who's life is being troubled by some unknown factor. The female lead gets mentally unstable and she confuses herself with dreams and reality. So is she really unstable or is there some sinister force against her ?

The lead characters are the soul of the movie and they share a wonderful chemistry as a husband and wife. Sshivada in particular has done an exemplary job. The way she treats dreams and reality was outstanding. The way she exposes herself as a mentally unstabled woman was freaking awesome. She still has a long way to go. Lots of maturity in her acting. Right from 'Nedunjaalai' she is carving a niche for herself. Well done Sshivada. Yet another Kerala actress who is going to cement a spot for herself in Kollywood. Ashwin Kakumanu has something to cheer about. After acting alongside with Ajith, Gautham Menon’s voice-over for the mythological portions deserves a mention.

The story travels between various worlds and that becomes a little difficult to understand. Most of the audience face trouble in understanding the concept. Nivas once again tastes success with some peppy background score. Babu Kumar's cinematography has taken each day to day life with normal lightings and simple frames. The costume designing also deserves special mention. There are nothing fancy. All characters are easy to relate with. Editing is neat. But there are lots of layers and most were mended with CGI. Debutante director seems to be more desperate... He never made this as a horror movie. He turned this into a Biblical fantasy, birth of universe, balance of Universe and so on. The entire movie is not fictious. There are some transition and that's pretty good.

'Zero' is definitely somethingnew to Tamil cinema. The movie has lots of surprises and the movie shows lots of close up shots and the lead actors are so perfect. Sshivada is the biggest strength and her acting is compensated by Nivas's background score. But the second half is the real trouble. Once they reveal that a supernatural element is working, the suspense is lost. Even Solomon's character was just a routine one.
