The Citizenship Amendment Bill put forth by the central government run by the bjp has received flak from almost all sections of people in the nation and while tamil Nadu government headed by chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy has aligned with the bill from bjp, the rest have opposed it.

Not just politicians, but stars and celebrities have also been very vocal about their opposition for the CAB and recently actor Siddharth's had posted that he feels ashamed to say that cm Edappadi Palanisamy is from his state and that if previous cm jayalalithaa was alive she would not have supported this.

Following this, actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam head Ulaga Nayagan kamal haasan has posted "Why are Tamils who are subjected to a methodic genocide and muslims facing discrimination, be excluded from the bill? If it’s a genuinely benevolent bill and not a vote garnering exercise, then why won’t this CAB stop to pick up stranded Tamils & troubled muslims of Srilanka?".  Meanwhile, the actor is stranded without restarting the shooting of 'Indian 2' due to the corona virus and also the crane accident which took the lives of 3 crew members.
