Senior actor karthik is currently admitted to the emergency ward as he is suffering with respiratory related issues. The actor who is away from the screen from quite some time now has been into active politics. He even established a party, but due to his health issues he disbanded it.

The actor was requested to campaign for Anna DMK party as the elections are ahead in tamil Nadu. The actor also actively participated in campaigning and promoted the party. However, the actor suddenly fell ill on 21 July and was admitted to the nearest hospital by his family members.

After receiving treatment he was discharged from the hospital, but was directed by the doctors to take bed rest for some more time. However, he again took part in campaigning which made him fall ill once again.

He was again admitted to a private hospital in chennai where he is being treated currently. He was admitted to the emergency ward and was getting treated for respiratory related issues. The actor is also said to suffer with blood pressure issues. The actor was also tested for coronavirus, but was tested negative for the virus.
