Karthi announced on twitter on thursday (September 16) that his roles in filmmaker Mani Ratnam's ponniyin selvan had been completed. He made the announcement in a humorous fashion, naming his co-stars trisha as well as jayam ravi in a twitter tweet. As per their roles in ponniyin selvan, he called them as princess as well as a young prince. The movie will be split into two parts. karthi recently announced on twitter that he will be portraying Vandhiyathevan in Ponniyin Selvan. As previously stated, ponniyin selvan is rooted on kalki krishna Moorthy's tamil literary work of the same name.


Actor jayam ravi completed his filming for ponniyin selvan last month. Chiyaan vikram and also rahman followed him and finished the shot as well. ponniyin selvan is has completed the shoot of the movie announcing it the movie team has published a fresh poster on social media depicting the iconic sword from the movie. Along with the wrap up of the movie the team has also announced that the movies first part will be released in summer 2022. lyca productions along with madras Talkies collaborated on the historical play. aishwarya Rai, karthi, Vikram, trisha and many others collab for this magnum opus.
