The rights to the hindi version of vijay sethupathi and Trisha's famous tamil love drama 96 have been acquired by producer ajay Kapoor, who is known for financing bollywood films like Romeo Akbar Walter, Patakha, and Attack, among others. The 2018 film follows the lives of two high school kids who truly love but are compelled to separate. 


The film follows what occurs after the two reconnect after decades apart during a reunion. The romance play, written and directed by C Premkumar, was well received by audiences of all ages and had a solid run. vijay sethupathi posted on Monday, september 20 to convey his delight at ajay Kapoor's acquisition of the hindi movie adaptation rights to the film: "

According to a source in The indian Times, the creator recently released a statement confirming that he has acquired the rights to the bollywood version of the film. “The story overcomes the boundaries beyond the limits of languages and geography, which motivated me to recreate the movie in bollywood for the large audience,” he reportedly said when asked why he chose the film.
