The seventh and eighth films in the 'Mission: Impossible' series, featuring tom Cruise, have indeed been postponed until 2023 and 2024, respectively, because to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to creators Paramount Pictures and Skydance. 'Mission: Impossible 7' was set to hit cinemas in september 2022, with 'Mission: Impossible 8' following in July 2023. The seventh episode will be released on July 14, 2023, and the eighth episode will be released on june 28, 2024.

"After careful deliberation, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have chosen to reschedule the launch dates for Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 owing to continued epidemic difficulties," the studios stated in an announcement. AMC Entertainment and Cinemark Holdings Inc, for example, are still trying to restore from the epidemic's protracted shutdown.

Christopher McQuarrie, the director of Mission: Impossible – Fallout, will return to oversee the show's 7th and 8th entries. Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, and Ving Rhames are among the cast members. Many of Paramount's major movies, such as A Quiet Place Part II, have remained cinema exclusives. Because Cruise is a proponent of the moviegoing experience, as well as the movies' large budgets, both the Cruise-starring Mission franchise and his forthcoming Top Gun: Maverick are predicted to maintain theatrical features.
