Up until march of this year, the cost of movie tickets in andhra pradesh remained a contentious political issue. After avoiding the subject for days, the YS jagan administration raised the prices at last. Before that, the telangana government had restricted the cost of tickets at the state's multiplexes to Rs 295. This is currently being used as bait by several movies to promote themselves.

Without considering the repercussions, the tollywood producers pushed both governments to raise the ticket fees. The same filmmakers are lowering the rates for the new films three months later. Following dil Raju's decision to do so for "F3," reduced ticket prices are now used by filmmakers as a publicity strategy. Recently, a few other indie films have done the same thing.

The makers of "Happy Birthday" and "Pakka Commercial" are currently advertising their films in a similar manner. Since the ticket costs are "average," they are enticing people to the theatre. The tollywood box office has been in a blah state for the past few weeks. It was bombed to say "Ante Sundaraniki." Even the films that came out last week were all duds at the Box Office.
