Currently riding high on the popularity of his most recent film, Sita Ramam, is director Hanu Raghavapudi. This romance drama, which stars Mrunal Thakur and dulquer salmaan in the major roles, is breaking box office records. Few people are aware that Hanu was tasked with directing the telugu version of the tamil smash Asuran. Hanu was approached by the producers at first, but he turned them down. It eventually made its way to srikanth Addala, which is how narappa came to be.

Hanu recently disclosed the reason he was forced to decline that offer. Hanu declared in an interview that he admires Vetrimaaran greatly. Hanu declared, "Whenever his movie is released, I'll fly to chennai to see the opening night premiere." One of my favourite pieces by Vetrimaaran is Asuran. I therefore believed that I ought to refrain from creating it again.

I had to decline the offer because of that," he continued. Hanu closed by expressing his desire to recreate at least one Vetrimaaran movie in Telugu. Hanu said, "I intend to adapt his films as brutal as they are in the original language." Meanwhile, Sita Ramam is minting money at the box office right now.
