With the movie "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect," actor madhavan made the transition from actor to director and producer. After learning about the renowned scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was wrongfully accused of espionage in 1994, madhavan made the movie with much emotion. This year's Cannes Film festival featured a screening of "Rocketry," and on July 1 it was released in theatres.

Due to the content, it only saw a restricted release, but Madhavan's performance and directing were lauded. There were rumours that madhavan sold his home to raise the money for the film, which had a 25 crore rupee budget. These rumours, which appeared on social media, were, however, unsubstantiated. When it finally got to madhavan, he finally put an end to it.

Oh Yar. Please don't be too patronising of my sacrifice. I didn't lose anything or my home. In actuality, this year will see everyone interested in rocketry proudly paying high income taxes. God's favour," madhavan wrote on Social media, adding that the movie generated respectable money and that he still resides in the same home. It's encouraging to hear that Madhavan's debut movie as a producer and director was a hit.
