The Omkara actor portrays a cop named vikram who is an expert in encounters, and hrithik roshan plays a mobster named Vedha in Saif ali Khan's upcoming action movie vikram Vedha, which also stars Hrithik. In a recent interview, Saif discussed how he disagrees with his character pretending to be a left-leaning person with liberal values.

Saif explained to Biz Asia what a "encounter specialist" is by saying: "We won't show whether the "criminal" was shot genuinely trying to escape or executed, according to the urban legend, and later they will file the paperwork to show that he was trying to flee and we had to shoot him. This urban legend first surfaced when the mafia problem was getting out of control. That is referred to as a "fake encounter," or a "encounter." It's kind of a horrible legal situation. It's certainly entirely unlawful. However, it is also pretty frightening cinematically, and my character sort of does that. However, he is certain that he is a nice man since (in his opinion) it is necessary."

The actor acknowledged he is a "little left-wing" when asked how his real life differs from that of his character Vikram, but he swiftly added that he isn't sure if he should still say things like that. The actor from Hum Tum said, "I'm a lot more... I guess a little left-wing... I dunno, maybe I shouldn't say stuff like this anymore nowadays. However, I am a pretty liberal and laid-back person who believes that everyone has a right to a fair trial before a verdict. I definitely oppose the execution of accused criminals, something that my character seems to enjoy doing."
