It has been announced that ace director Maniratnam will next begin his magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, after the humongous success of his Multi-starrer movie Chekka Chivantha Vaanam which featured an array of stars.
Ponniyin Selvan which happens to be the celluloid adaptation of the classic novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy will star Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram amitabh bachchan, Keerthy suresh, aishwarya Rai and sathyaraj in key roles.
Initially, Nayanthara was supposed to play the role Poonguzhali but now the buzz is that Tollywood lady Superstar anushka shetty might replace Nayanthara in the movie. Interestingly years before when Maniratnam wanted to make Ponniyin Selvan, Anushka was supposed to be the female lead.
