The movie was received with grand expectations and pre-release hype and even in cities like Chennai Early morning shows were planned in many theatres even at 4 AM, and now the movie is a big hit. The movie collected More than 50 crores net in india on day 1, and in Chennai box office has surpassed superstar Rajnikanth's Petta and Thala Ajith's Viswasam.
Avengers Endgame collected 1.17 crores gross, while Petta had 1.12 crores and Viswasam 0.88 crores gross on Day 1 in Chennai. Now, the movie is ready for a re-release on 28th and it is now confirmed to break Avatar's records.
