Ramesh, a member of parliament from Cuddalore, has petitioned the court for bail. DRVS Ramesh, a Cuddalore MP, owns a cashew factory in Panikkankuppam, near Panruti. Govindaraj, a 55-year-old labourer from Melamampattu village, was employed in this plant. Govindaraj inexplicably died on the 19th of last month in this situation. In this case, the Gadambuliyur police have filed a report of a suspicious death and are investigating. Several protests were staged in this regard.

The case has been sent to the CBCID by the tamil Nadu government. The CBCID police then conducted investigations in a number of locations, including Panikkankuppam. The autopsy report of Govindaraju, who was in the Mundiyambakkam government Medical college Hospital in Villupuram district at the time, was given over to the CBCID police in this situation.

Govindaraj was battered to death, according to the report. Following this, MP. CBCID police registered a murder complaint against six people, including Ramesh, on the 8th of last month. Five persons were detained on the 9th early morning, including Pudukottai-based Allappichchai, MP's assistant Natarajan, who was working at Ramesh's cashew factory. Ramesh Panruti, the 11th MP, surrendered at the pro court in this case. He was placed in court custody for two days by the judge. He was thereafter detained at the Cuddalore Branch Jail.
