Minister KN Nehru reviewed the construction of a new sewerage pipeline and a tertiary level sewage treatment facility with a capacity of 10 million litres in Chennai's Kodambakkam zone yesterday. New pipes will also be installed to replace pipes that have been in disrepair for more than 50 years. During the rainy season, ward-level committees have been formed to deal with complaints.

In the districts of Theni, Karur, Dharmapuri, Erode, Salem, and krishnagiri in tamil Nadu, child marriage and pregnancy are on the rise. In 2015, there were 246 child marriages in the district. By 2020, the number will have risen to 830. In the last ten months, it has grown to 728. During the previous regime, anything like this was left unattended.
