The united states, on the other hand, is trying to diplomatically boycott this international sporting event on allegations of human rights abuses.

Tensions along the Indo-China border have been high for the past 19 months. Several media articles also reported that china was further strengthening its military bases along its border with India.

On this occasion, india extended its support to china in hosting the Winter olympics and Paralympics.

The foreign ministers of Russia, china and india issued a joint statement after the meeting. The ministers approved the organization of the Winter olympics and Paralympic Games in china in 2022.
