Domestic Worker Survey: There may be more than 30 million domestic workers in the country, the Ministry of Labor will find out the status of the workers, from salary methods to their living conditions, etc. through the survey.



The Ministry of Labor has decided to conduct a survey of workers working in homes. 



All domestic workers like cooks, drivers, housekeeping, watchmen, etc. will be included in the survey. For this, a survey campaign will be conducted across the country. 



Through these surveys, the government wants to assess the condition of domestic workers at the central and state levels.



Under the survey, the number of domestic workers at the state and central levels is to be ascertained. 



Apart from this, in the houses where they work, they live or are residing outside. Among those who reduce, how many come under organized employment, how many are doing employment in the unorganized sector.



 How many are migrants among workers and how many are non-migrants? Also, what is their salary? How do they get a salary? To collect data about their social and economic status.



Apart from this, what is the size of the houses in which the domestic workers live, whether the houses are pucca houses or kutcha, what is the monthly expenditure of the workers? 



What kind of society does he live in, what is his education level, has he done any vocational training, what social schemes do he get benefits from, etc. things will be known.



Many facilities available

After the situation of the domestic workers is clear after the survey, many important schemes can be made for them. 



For example, on the basis of the labour code, many important facilities like working hours of workers, minimum wage, weekly leave, PF accounts can be started. 



However, this can be done only after the results of the survey are out. The results of which will come after about a year.



The number may be more than 30 million in India

According to the e-Shram portal registered workers, so far more than 79 lakh domestic workers have registered themselves. So far, a total of 8.96 

crore workers have registered on the portal. 



The government expects that 38 crore workers will be registered on the e-shram portal. On this basis, there can be 3-3.5 crore domestic workers across the country.



The survey will be done in 742 districts

The survey, which began on november 22, will cover 742 districts in 37 states and 3 union territories. Under which a total of 12766 Phase I Units (FSUs) i.e. 6190 villages and 6576 UFS blocks will be covered in the survey. And 1,50,000 houses i.e. Ultimate Stage Units (USU) will be covered.
