Prime minister narendra modi has issued an important warning to the states while the central and state governments are making many efforts to take the indian economy to a faster growth path. narendra modi has not only warned the states that the amount of loss in India's electricity distribution sector is in double digits, but he has also said that it should be resolved soon.
Modi mentioned that the loss in India's electricity distribution sector is in double digits, but in all the developed countries it is in the single target.So a lot of electricity is wasted without generating income. Not only this, we are forced to produce electricity over the demand, said prime minister Modi.Electricity Boards in several states in india have arrears of over Rs 1 lakh crore. This amount is mandatory for the state governments to provide to the power generating companies. In this case, prime minister Modi said that he would request the state governments to pay the dues of the electricity boards of all the states as soon as possible. Modi also questioned why the dues of the state governments continue to increase even when people are paying properly for the electricity they use.Modi on saturday also announced financial assistance of around Rs 3 lakh crore for the period 2021-22 to 2025-26 to improve power distribution and operations efficiency and financial sustainability of the power sector in India.
