The issue of ban on firecrackers heated up...

People of many states of the country including the capital delhi did not burst crackers on diwali last year because due to pollution, the supreme court and the state government had banned firecrackers. The delhi government has banned firecrackers this year as well. Now the matter has once again reached the supreme court regarding this. lok sabha mp and bjp leader manoj tiwari has filed a petition in the supreme court in this matter and has demanded a special order.

Actually, manoj tiwari has demanded from the supreme court in the petition that the court has demanded a ban on only polluting firecrackers, but the state governments have banned all types of firecrackers, which has proved to be a setback for the people. Manoj Tiwari's petition has even said that this order of the state governments is a violation of freedom of religion and it should be withdrawn.

Right to religious freedom

Talking about religious freedom, manoj tiwari said that the right to religious freedom cannot be taken away. They have demanded that a balance needs to be maintained as per the sc order dated october 29 last year. It has been demanded in this petition that all the states including delhi should issue new guidelines for the purchase, sale and operation of permissible firecrackers. At the same time, the states which are still not accepting this demand should be directed to do so by the supreme Court.

People express happiness with firecrackers

The bjp mp has said in his petition that on the occasion of diwali, lakhs of people express their happiness by lighting fireworks. On such occasion, the police also intensify the action against them. By registering a case against the shopkeepers selling firecrackers, action is taken for confiscation and arrest of their goods. This is a direct violation of the right to religious freedom. manoj tiwari has sought permission to sell and buy non-polluting green firecrackers.
