Maharashtra deputy chief minister devendra fadnavis said on wednesday that an inquiry would be initiated as to why the police did not take any action even after Shraddha Walker's complaint in 2020. devendra fadnavis has said that if action was taken at the right time, she could have been saved. Shraddha Walker lodged a complaint in the year 2020 at Tulinj police station in Palghar, Maharashtra. Shraddha had said that Aftab Poonawalla assaulted her and threatened to kill her.

Now questions are being raised that if the police knew that Aftab Poonawalla was continuously beating him, there is also primary evidence, then why was he not arrested at the right time?
