The honourable
supreme court today referred the petitions pertaining to 2018 Sabrimala judgement delivered by the
court itself to 7 judge bench, the bench will re-examine various issues other than Sabrimala like
women entry into the
mosque, and female genital mutilation practice in Dawoodi Bohra community.
The apex
court today unanimously agreed to refer the Sabrimala 2018 judgement to a larger seven member bench, while a split decision of 3:1 came pertaining to
review its judgment given in 2018. The majority verdict by justice
ranjan gogoi, justice Indu Malhotra, and AM khanwilkar decided to keep pending the pleas pertaining to entry of
women in Sabrimala 2018
supreme court judgement.
The apex
court also observed that
women entry to holy places is not just limited to Sabrimala, but also in many other religions as well. However the
court did not said anything adverse nor it cleared the uncertainty on
women entry into holy hill-top shrine of Sabrimala.
The uncertainty still remains as the shrine is scheduled to open on
november 17, although
kerala government has hailed and supported the Supreme court’s verdict on Sabrimala, it urged the
court to trash all
review petitions.
