Reportedly online cab-hailing company uber has issued a detailed guideline for passengers and riders in india as precautionary measures against the coronavirus. In india, uber has suspended ‘Uber Pool’ or its share-riding option till further notice and added that maximum two people can ride together. The company's guideline said no rider will be allowed on the front seat. It also said that the rider can cancel the trip if the driver is not wearing a mask.

 

The guidelines also mention that air-condition can only be used in “fresh air mode”. Besides, passengers will have to handle their bags on their own.3-step checklist For driversUber has announced a three-step checklist for its driver-partners before they can begin their rides. Other than that, the driver mandatorily needs to have a “COVID hub” in his driver app. The company said drivers have been trained adequately on how to wear a mask and ways to disinfect their card.The drivers will be required to wear a face mask each time they login and they also have to upload a photo after wearing a mask. If this is not followed, the trip will not start, added Uber.If the picture uploaded as no mask, uber will not let the driver login for the trip. Moreover, passengers or riders can cancel the trip anytime if their driver is not wearing a mask.

 

drivers have also been asked to sanitise their vehicles before the start of each trip, especially the most touch surfaces like the seat, door handle, window adjuster. The use of Aarogya Setu has also been recommended for drivers and the company said it will continue to “support and educate” drivers and riders on safety norms. The india guidelines are almost similar to the global coronavirus precautionary measures announced by the company.
