maharashtra government on friday said it will allow 25 passenger flights to take off from and as many to land in mumbai from monday, adding that the number will be increased gradually. An indigo airlines flight from jaipur will be the first one to arrive in mumbai at 6 am on Monday. maharashtra minister and ncp leader nawab malik said that maha maharashtra will allow 25 passenger flights from and to mumbai from tomorrow. "Number will be increased slowly," he added.Malik added that the state government will issue details and guidelines in this regard soon. Meanwhile the decision comes hours after maharashtra chief minister uddhav thackeray said that mumbai international airport Limited (MIAL) should initiate minimum possible domestic flights from May 25, till it plans and fine-tunes the airport operations.

 

The Chief Minister's office (CMO) messaged informing about uddhav Thackeray's conversation with Union Civil Aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri. According to the CMO's message, uddhav thackeray told Hardeep Singh puri that only those domestic flights which are purely necessary like international transfer passengers from cities, medical emergencies and students should be allowed to operate.

 

The message said "Till the time MIAL (Mumbai international airport Limited) plans and fine-tunes the airport operations, the aviation ministry should initiate minimum possible domestic flights from maharashtra from May 25th, which are purely emergent in nature like for international transfer of passengers, medical emergencies, students, and cases on compassionate groundup".
