As per report delhi Metro services were suspended ever since the nationwide lockdown began in the month of march to curb the spread of Covid19. And now, as per fresh reports, the delhi Metro rail Corporation (DMRC) is expected to start its metro rail services from june 1.  According to reports, DMRC is gearing up for the resumption of the services as all the employees were asked to report to work on Tuesday. The delhi Metro administration has asked its 14,000 strong workforce has been asked to report on duty on May 26, reports said. 

 

Earlier, it was reported that the metro rail services will resume during lockdown 4.0 which started on May 4. However, the Centre didn’t give its approval for the resumption of its operation. Speaking to the media about resuming the servicedelhi Transport minister Kailash Gahlot said that there is no official confirmation yet from the centre. delhi government wants that metro train services should be started again soon. 

 

The passengers will be monitored through the CCTV installed in the trains and they would have to maintain a distance of 1 metre while travelling in the metro.Alternate seats will have to be left vacant by the travellers to ensure social distancing. Passenger will not have to go through any physical contact during security checking. The delhi Metro is expected to allow only 50 passengers coach. Regular precautionary measures are must like wearing masks, undergoing thermal screening and having the Aarogya Setu application on their mobile phones.
