Rajya Sabha on thursday witnessed  a high drama after Trinamool Congress(TMC) mp Santanu Sen snatched papers from ashwini Vaishnaw, Electronics and Information technology minister and tored them and flung them into the air. The IT minister was reading a statement on the spying allegations by media and opposition.

According to reports, the TMC mp snatched the statement from the IT minister in rajya sabha and tore it. Following this, there was a verbal spat between TMC and bjp MPs.  The Upper house chair called the Marshals to intervene to bring the situation under control.

Heated argument took place between TMC mp Santanu Sen and Union minister Hardeep Singh puri after the snatching incident. The incident took place when IT minister ashwini Vaishnaw was called to make his statement over the Pegasus spyware issue. While ashwini Vaishnaw was making his statement, TMC and other Opposition party members came into the well and started shouting slogans and tore the papers which appeared to be copies of the pegasus issue statement that the IT minister was holding.

Deputy Chairman Harivansh asked the members to stop their unparliamentary behaviour, and adjourned the proceedings of the house for rest of the day. The adjournment came after the opposition parties demanded suspension of all the business to discuss Pegasus report, raids on media houses and farmers' protests.
