Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration minister K.N. Nehru took a jibe at former railway minister and RJD supremo Lalu prasad Yadav. Nehru said, “while working as Railway minister Lalu prasad Yadav packed the Railways with Biharis, even though Biharis have less brain than Tamils”.

“In Tiruchy, at the Golden Rock railway Workshop more than 4,000 Biharis are working. Similarly, at the railway crossings most of the gatekeepers are Biharis. This is all the handiwork of Lalu prasad Yadav. When Lalu was railway minister he had his all fellow Biharis pass the exams of railways by copying and then gave them jobs in railways. These people know neither hindi nor tamil and don't have the brains that Tamils have. Yet they are working in our State,” rued Nehru, who is ranked number three in M.K. Stalin’s cabinet.

Nehru made these remarks on sunday while he was addressing an employment camp at DMK office in Tiruchy. He also blamed the Tamils equally since they rarely showed any inclination in central government jobs or in the government's undertakings. “Even though ten% of jobs in PSU banks and Railways are reserved for candidates from outside the states, very few tamil students took advantage of this. In South India, tamil youth are the smartest after Kerala, and hence Tamilians should make more sincere attempts for the central government jobs,” the minister suggested.

On a personal level, Nehru recalled that former chief minister Karunanidhi once had asked him to become an mp considering his seniority and move to Delhi. “I refused the great leader saying I did not know either hindi or english or. I regret that now,” he said
