Congress chief rahul gandhi declares that the accusations of snooping using Pegasus spyware were not about secrecy but an “anti-national act and deception. He added the United Opposition against the government is not advancing anywhere until the government accepts to discuss the subject in Parliament.

The Opposition parties had solidified their stance after heads of 14 parties met to discuss joint tactics against the Modi government. Many of them, in a calibrated fashion, had necessitated an adjournment motion to discuss the Spyware issue after discontinuing regular business.

The Opposition’s proactive stance also came after what Mr. rahul gandhi alleged on the government’s unwillingness to have any analysis on the issue in Parliament.

Has the indian government purchased Pegasus? Did the government use the spyware weapon on its own countrymen?

Mr. gandhi also accused PM narendra modi and home minister amit shah of attacking the soul of India’s democracy.

‘An anti-national act’

Addressing the youth and the indian populace directly, the congress chief said, prime minister had placed a weapon in their mobile. The spyware weapon had been used against the opposition leaders, supreme Court,  people in journalism, and Social activists.

In other countries Pegasus spyware was used upon terrorists and rebels, Mr. Modi used it upon india and its countrymen.

The Opposition party leaders are united in their interest for the argument in parliament on the snooping row and it was for the government to guarantee that the house operated.
