As a result of the current sequence of events in Punjab's political landscape, senior congress politician ambika Soni has refused the invitation to become the province's next party chief, following Captain Amarinder Singh's resignation yesterday. In a delayed conversation with previous party president and comrade rahul Gandhi, ambika Soni reportedly denied the invitation to become Punjab's next chief minister. The meeting was conducted on the same day that Captain amarinder singh announced his decision to resign as Chief Minister.

During her discussion with rahul Gandhi, she made it plain that she does not want to be the state's party chief because not having a punjabi as the state's chief minister has "repercussions." The party is yet to make a choice on who will be the future chief minister of Punjab. Three political analysts from the congress party in punjab are presently visiting with every mla in the province to solicit their input on the incoming chief minister's appointment, taking into account recent events. They'll submit a report to the senior command after that, and a decision would be made.

According to ANI, Soni's identity was revealed since she is one of the campaign's most top members, and both Captain Amrinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu hold Soni in high regard. The ultimate decision on the new head leader's selection is expected to be made later evening.
