As the border conflict between odisha and andhra pradesh worsens, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan has asked andhra pradesh Chief minister YS jagan Mohan reddy for personal involvement to help resolve the matter peacefully.

The Union minister requested bilateral meetings with his odisha counterpart, naveen Patnaik, in a letter to reddy, and laid out the broad contours of a future plan to resolve the concerns.

Skirmishes that began in 20 or so villages of Kotia panchayat in Pottangi block of Koraput district have now expanded to other border villages in Gajapati district, according to the letter.

He asked reddy to create a favourable atmosphere for negotiations between the two states by removing armed police personnel from disputed villages and immediately dropping complaints filed with police in both states against local representatives and government officials.
Odisha and andhra pradesh have a lot in common in terms of history, development problems, and welfare goals, according to Pradhan. He pledged the Union Government's full support and his availability to help create a friendly climate for bilateral negotiations. He noted that both governments' development endeavours in rural areas have gone a long way toward reducing the risks posed by left-wing extremism (LWE).
