Hindutva is currently under threat from those who seek to rule through Hindutva. Uddhav  thackeray, the chief minister of maharashtra, has slammed the bjp, claiming it has become as addicted to power as heroin addicts. On the occasion of Vijayadasami, shiv sena chief and maharashtra chief minister uddhav thackeray spoke to volunteers in mumbai yesterday. Speaking at the event, uddhav thackeray said,

"Outsiders did not pose a threat to Hindutva doctrine. However, people who claim to be Hindus are now posing a threat by utilising Hindutva as a stepping stone to power. Those people are founded on the british system of secession and rule. We must defend Hindutva against those who take on such a form. Hindus and maratha people must work together. After severing ties with the bjp, the bjp has set its sights on maharashtra and the Shiv Sena.
