A youth from the village of Majibara in Rangpur district has reportedly posted a controversial comment about Muslims on Facebook, and a mob entered the area, setting fire to 20 houses and looting 66 houses.


In this context, the issue of attacks on Hindus and Hindu temples was discussed at a cabinet meeting chaired by prime minister Sheikh Hasina. Speaking on the occasion, prime minister Sheikh Hasina directed Interior minister Assad Saman to take immediate action against those who use religion to incite violence. Moreover, he has appealed to the public not to believe anything that comes from social media without knowing the truth.
