Chap tobacco, pure tobacco, khaini, scented tobacco/flavoured tobacco packed in pouches, sachets or any containers are also banned for one more year. 



The order was issued under Section 30 (2) (a) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. 



It was issued by the Directorate of the Institute of Preventive Medicine, Public health Laboratories, and the Food Commissioner of Food Safety. 

The order will come into effect from december 7.


The task force of the hyderabad commissioner and the Afzalganj police recently raided a godown in New Osmanganj amid the rising consumption and sale of illicit drugs and gutka in the city.



 About 1475 kilograms of illicit chewing tobacco products, pan masala, and other products worth over Rs 57 lakh were seized during this raid. 


One person was arrested. hyderabad City Commissioner Anjani Kumar told IPS that the raid was carried out on november 18. A similar order was issued one year back in January.
