He believes that if he runs in the parliamentary elections, it will give the party a fresh lease on life, with the trs having a good chance of winning roughly 14-15 lok sabha seats. However, Telangana's assembly elections will be held at least six months before the lok sabha elections, and if the trs loses the assembly elections, it will hurt KCR's national political ambitions. So, according to reports, kcr will run in the assembly elections as well, ensuring that the trs returns to power in the state for the third time. He may then resign from the assembly and run for the lok sabha, leaving the state in the hands of his son, K T Rama Rao.
KCR is expected to field Vanteru Pratap Reddy, his former opponent and current trs leader, from Gajwel, while shifting to a constituency in the nalgonda or warangal districts. Sitting mp Kotha prabhakar reddy would be fielded from the Dubbak assembly constituency, which is now represented by bjp mla M Raghunandan Rao, because he would be contesting the medak parliamentary seat.
