A british Sikh man caught with a bow and arrow on christmas Day last year in the premises of Windsor Castle, the residence of the british royal family, has told security guards that he was there to assassinate queen Elizabeth II. This was told to a UK court on Wednesday. In a video that surfaced after the arrest of Southampton resident Jaswant Singh Chail, he described himself as an indian Sikh, who wanted to kill the 96-year-old Maharani to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.



The queen was in her private apartment when the incident happened on the morning of 25 december 2021. Earlier this month, 20-year-old Chail was charged with sedition, threatening to murder and possessing a weapon. He was produced at Westminster Magistrates' court in london on Wednesday, which remanded him in custody. He will be produced before the Old Bailey court on september 14. Before being handcuffed and arrested, Chail reportedly told a royal security officer that he had come here to kill the Queen. Chail appeared in court via video link from the over-secured psychiatric unit of Brodmoor Hospital in Berkshire.
