Anantha uday Bhaskar, an MLC who is accused of killing his former vehicle driver, had filed a bail petition, but the andhra pradesh High court dismissed it on Monday. The lawmaker sought release on the grounds that the police had not filed a charge sheet even 90 days after his arrest, despite the fact that the governing ysr congress party (YSRCP) had suspended him upon his detention four months earlier.

After his bail appeal was denied by a lower court, he went to the high court. Currently, he is being held in rajamahendravaram Prison. His judicial detention had recently been extended till october 8 by a SC/ST cases court. He was given three days of bail last month so he could attend his mother's funeral.

The MLC, also known as Anantha Babu, was detained in May on suspicion of killing his former driver Subrahmanyam. On the evening of May 19, the deceased fell and died as a result of being pushed by him during an argument. The MLCA also instructed cops to injure Subrahmanyam's body in order to depict it as a victim of a car accident. The driver's family, however, did not accept his account and reported the incident to the police. Anantha Babu was expelled from the ruling party following his arrest.
