The railway administration has changed the saffron uniforms of the employees of the Ramayana Express train in protest of the monks.

The uniforms of indian Railways' Ramayana Express train employees have been abruptly changed. Earlier, saffron uniforms were designed for the train staff.

Indian Railways has launched a new train service called Ramayana Express. This train runs to Ayodhya. This train will stop at Ramayana-related towns on the way to Ayodhya.

The staff of the train were given saffron uniforms worn by monks. There was great opposition to this. There was strong opposition not only from the public but also from the monks.

The protest was said to be an insult to Hinduism. The commotion was sparked by the announcement by several ujjain monks that a train picket would take place if the uniform was not stopped.

Shocked by this, irctc has now changed its uniform. The company, which has introduced pants shirt uniforms for employees, has incorporated saffron colour only in the turban and mask. Even the gloves are saffron in colour.

Earlier, Avjeshpuri, former general secretary of the ujjain Akila Parishad, had said that it was an insult to hinduism for staff to dress up as saints, wear rudraksha garlands around their necks, serve food and greet passengers.

The first Ramayana train begins its 17-day journey on november 7. This train will travel about 7500 km.

This train will reach Ayodhya, Pragyaraj, Nandigram, Janakpur, Chitrakoot, Sitamarhi, Nashik, hampi and Rameswaram.

The train will travel to a total of 15 towns. The train has modern amenities including first-class restaurants and a library.
