South Africa vs. India: After ex-India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane was removed cheaply on Day 3 of the 3rd Test, fans ridiculed him for his repeated failures in Test cricket, with the hashtag #ThankYouRahane trending on Social media. On Day 3 of the ongoing third and pivotal Test in Cape Town, senior hitter Ajinkya Rahane failed to generate once again, as Kagiso Rabada removed the indian ex-vice captain cheaply to dent India.


After south africa dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara for 9 in the first over of Day 3 when Marco Jansen bowled a blockbuster targeted at the india batter's shoulders, Rahane came out to bat. Pujara tried to get out of the way, but the ball got the better of him and soared towards the well-placed leg slip. Rahane, on the other hand, did not last long, as Kagiso Rabada dismissed him after only scoring one run.

Rahane is having his poorest season yet, with averages of 38.85 and 19.57 in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Rahane hasn't scored a century since october 2019, and his career average has dropped below 40 as a result of his failures. In 2017, he averaged 34.62, and in 2018, he averaged a below-average 30.66.
