The eleventh edition of the hugely anticipated Indian premier league is expected much, as the most expected teams Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are joining back after being banned for 2 years for spot-fixing in 2013. The IPL auction will be a 2-day event held in Bengaluru on January 27 and 28. The new law introduced is Right to match, according to which a team can retain its player for the same price quoted by other contestant teams after winning the bid. The salary cap has also been increased from 66 crores to 80 crores.


Besides, franchises also have the option of retaining 3 players prior to the auction, as 33 crores will be deducted, 15 for player 1, 11 for player 2, and 7 for player 3. If an uncapped player is retained, 3 crores will be deducted. Chennai super kings and Rajasthan Royals will be able to retain all their players, and in general, a team will be able to retain 3 capped players, 2 uncapped Indian players and two overseas players overall. CSK has decided to retain MS Dhoni and Raina and they are thinking about the third player.
