Currently virat kohli is looking set to surpass former captain and bcci president sourav ganguly on the list of most runs for india in Test cricket and kohli is at the 7th spot with 7066 runs (82 matches) while Ganguly finished his glorious career with 7212 runs in 113 matches. Furthermore kohli need just 157 runs to go past Ganguly. Only sachin tendulkar (15921), rahul dravid (13288), sunil gavaskar (10122), VVS Laxman (8718) and Virender Sehwag (8586) are above the duo on the list of indians with most Test runs.



Moreover notably, virat kohli had scored a double hundred at the Holkar Stadium which will host the 1st Test between india and bangladesh from Thursday. Apparently after beating bangladesh 2-1 in the recently concluded T20I series, india is set to take on bangladesh in the 1st Test in Indore. The two teams will then play their 1st ever day and night Test in kolkata from november 22.
