Reportedly wrist spinner kuldeep yadav on friday became the fastest indian spinner to claim 100 wickets in One day Internationals during the ongoing 2nd ODI against australia in Rajkot. Meanwhile the Chinaman, who became the first indian cricketer to claim two hat-tricks in international cricket in 2019 during the 2nd ODI against Windies, is now also the third-fastest indian bowler to take 100 ODI wickets.

Furthermore kuldeep claimed the feat when he dismissed alex Carey for 18 in the 38th over of the second innings after australia won the toss and put india to bat first on a sluggish rajkot track. Hence overall, Rashid Khan is the fastest bowler ever to complete 100 ODI wickets, doing so in just 44 matches. kuldeep is also the 22nd indian to have attained the feat. Perhaps among the spinners, kuldeep is the eighth indian to have 100 wickets in the 50-format game.

Moreover kuldeep, who was a permanent fixture from 2017 to early 2019 in the indian side, endured a slump starting after a disappointing world cup and as a result, he was dropped for a good four months. When admitting that 2019 was a "tough year" for him, indian left-arm spinner kuldeep yadav had said he has learned from his mistakes and will try to plan better for the challenges this year. kuldeep said "It (2019) was a tough one. I learned a lot of things and the biggest positive was getting to know that I could have planned things better and if I thought more and gave more time to myself, I could have performed better. In 2020, I will try to plan every game better and give myself more time, so I get more time to reflect on my game".
