Reportedly a host of cricket legends came together on sunday at the Bushfire Bash for a noble cause as they raised more than USD 7.7 million for the people affected by the raging Australian fires that have had a devastating impact on vast swathes of the country. Meanwhile cricketers including india great sachin tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, and Adam Gilchrist among others were part of the 10-over side charity match between Ponting XI and Gilchrist XI on sunday afternoon at Melbourne's Junction Oval.

 

Furthermore to help raise funds for the chief purpose, legendary batsman sachin tendulkar, who was involved as a coach to the Ponting XI, came out of retirement after a request from Ellyse Perry and faced the Australian all-rounder in an over during the innings break. Perhaps Tendulkar, among other cricketers who participated in the Bushfire Bash, took to twitter post the game to share his experience and said he was happy to contribute towards the cause.

 

Moreover Tendulkar also shared pictures on social media where he and other former cricketers were seen signing jerseys for each other. Former india all-rounder yuvraj singh, who played for the Adam Gilchrist's team also thanked all those who are making efforts to raise funds for the Bushfire relief. Perhaps ponting XI emerged victorious by 1 run against Gilchrist XI in the Bushfire cricket Bash. Ponting XI posted 104 for 5 on the board in 10 overs with former west indies captain Brian Lara top-scoring with 30 runs off 11 balls. Ricky Ponting hit a 14-ball 26 before retiring himself.
