WhatsApp has announced that over 3 million indian accounts have been banned during a 46 day period, from 16 june to 31 July, which is owned by Facebook's messaging platform.


In its second conformity report under the new Information technology Rules, the messaging giant stated in 2021, the company received 137 account support reports of which one was applied and 316 requests for ban accounts.


In accordance with the new IT Rules 2021, the latest whatsapp User Safety Monthly Report has been published. The report describes WhatsApp's actions, based on complaints and its own tools for the 46 day period from 16 june to 31 July of this year for preventing abuse. whatsapp states that over the aforesaid period, it banned 3,027,000 indian accounts. The bans applied through the indian Grievance Officer's complaints and posts were only 73, the rest being identified using WhatsApp's own resources and tools to stop harmful behaviour on the platform.
