5G telecom services: Modi cabinet approves 5g spectrum auction, services can be available till Diwali

The Union cabinet has taken an important decision toward starting fifth-generation telecom services in the country. Modi's cabinet has approved the auction of the 5g spectrum. According to experts, if all goes well, then this year till Diwali, the countrymen can get the gift of 5g telecom services.

To operate these services for 20 years, the government will auction a total of 72097.85 MHz spectrum by the end of July. The proposal for spectrum auction of the Department of Telecommunications was approved in a meeting of the Union cabinet chaired by PM narendra modi on Wednesday. The successful bidders in the auction will be licensed spectrum to provide 5g telecom services to the public and enterprises of the country.

Earlier, the cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) had cleared the auction of the 5g spectrum. Telecom companies in the country have been waiting for the auction of the 5g spectrum for a long time.


With this, a new telecom revolution has started in the country. The Telecom Ministry will invite applications from interested telecom companies this week. The auction process will be started by the end of July. For this, the total cost of the spectrum has been kept at Rs 5 lakh crore. Under this, the government will auction nine spectrums. This auction will be for 20 years.

Can apply for up to 2500 MHz band In this auction, telecom companies will apply for the auction of 600 to 1800 MHz band and 2100, 2300, 2500 MHz band. The indian government has already tested advanced services with calling and video calling of the 5g spectrum.
