The total cost for jio to acquire the right to use the 5g technology spectrum for a period of 20 years is Rs. 88,078 crore will be spent. 1. jio has acquired a unique combination of low-band, mid-band, mmWave spectrum. jio says this coupled with its deep fiber network, indigenous technology platforms, will enable it to deliver 5g everywhere, 5g to everyone (consumers, enterprises).

2. With its unmatched 700 MHz spectrum footprint, jio will be the only operator to offer pan-India true 5g services with high speed, low latency, massive connectivity.

3. Through these, Jio's total owned spectrum footprint increased significantly to 26,772 MHz uplink + downlink combined. It is the highest in India.

a. Sub-GHz: jio has the largest amount of Sub-GHz spectrum with at least 2X10 MHz of ancillary spectrum in each of the 700 MHz, 800 MHz bands in 22 circles.

b. Mid-band: jio is the only operator with at least 2X10 MHz in 1800 MHz band (with 2X20 MHz in six key circles), 40 MHz in 2300 MHz band, 100 MHz in 3300 MHz band in all 22 circles.

c. mmWave: Additionally, jio also has the right to use 1,000 MHz in each millimeter wave band (26 GHz) in 22 circles. This is critical for enabling enterprise use cases, providing high-quality streaming services.

The enhanced network capacity will address the rapidly growing data demand on the jio network, which already has the highest wireless data traffic in the world.
