The number of Netflix OTT platform customers surged dramatically in the third quarter of 2021. This is claimed to be due to the popularity of the Squid game series. 

OTT in the United States 

In the three months between July and September, Netflix added 44 lakh, new subscribers. This is more than double the number of subscribers who made a financial contribution in the preceding quarter. Squid Game, a Korean television sitcom, was seen by 142 million families in its first four weeks.

The Squid Game is also the most-watched Netflix series to date. Netflix is progressively gaining traction after a difficult start in the first half of 2021. Over time, the increase in the number of subscribers during the Corona pandemic declined. 

In the fourth quarter of this year, Netflix, the world's largest streaming platform, expects 8.5 million customers, exceeding analyst predictions.

Bridgeton was the most-watched Netflix series before the Squid game series. Putting all of that aside, the squid game series, which is marketed as a children's game with numerous hazards for financial gain, has topped the list. 

According to Bloomberg, the $ 21.4 million Squid game series is now worth $ 900 million. The Mani Heist series, like the squid game, is well-received. In the first four weeks after its debut, 69 million people watched the first half of the fifth season of the show. 

It's worth noting that neither of these shows is predominantly produced in English. In a letter to its shareholders, Netflix stated, "We currently make local television and cinema films in 45 countries and have a deep engagement with the creators' community throughout the world.

"Netflix has also stated that the future seasons of popular series such as 'Cobra Guy' and 'Tiger King' are expected to attract a large number of new customers during the christmas season. It's worth noting that Roald Dahl agreed to buy the tale company last September. 

However, ethical permissions must be obtained. It's worth noting that titles including 'Charlie,' 'Chocolate Factory,' and 'Madilda' were available to Netflix after the firm was acquired.
