With a net worth of more than Rs 33,000 Cr, PP reddy, chairman of Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL), emerged as India's 43rd richest person. Son of a farmer, reddy founded Megha Engineering Enterprises in 1989 and later forayed into infrastructure projects like highways, dams, and networks for distributing natural gas. Megha constructed the largest lift irrigation project in India, costing over $14 billion, in the state of Telangana.

He started his company 36 years ago with just two people and gradually grew to become the industrialist of the country. To become this large over a long period of time, it unquestionably takes unwavering and perfect commitment. This is made possible by the persistence in teamwork and the emphasis on business. The Megha region has some of the biggest projects in the country and the world, and it is a pioneer in renewable energy, irrigation, power, oil and gas, and drinking water.

Megha Engineering Enterprises was founded in 1989 by P.P. reddy, a farmer's son, to build tiny pipes for communities. He started building networks for transmitting natural gas as well as highways, dams, and other infrastructure swiftly. In 2006, he changed the company's name to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures. His nephew P.V. krishna Reddy, who joined PP reddy in 1991, is in charge of the business.
